One-Punch Man Fan-Favorite Character Finally Gets Powered Up
A well-loved but highly underpowered One Punch Man character receives a massive power boost in the latest chapter of the webcomic.
The beloved One-Punch Man character Mumen Rider finally gets the power to be an S-Class hero.
One Punch Man's webcomic, written by One, recently received a new chapter that gave the "Biker for Justice" a massive raise in his power levels, as reported by Sportskeeda. The typically underpowered hero arrived in the latest chapter to help his peers as they battled against robots destroying the city. However, rather than his typical costume, he came in a new powered-up suit that increased his strength and durability.
How does Mumen Rider operate ?
Mumen Rider appeared out of nowhere to stop the attack on Tank Top Master, who was about to explode. The hero, now known as Neo Mumen, took the blast to the chest without batting an eyelid before escaping with Tank Top. This sudden increase in his power was mitigated by the suit he was given by the Neo Heroes, which increased his physical abilities. He, along with other Neo Heroes and a group known as The Hunters, used these suits to help protect the city from the robotic threat.
satoru, the actual name of Mumen Rider, is a minor supporting character from the One Punch Man webcomic, it's manga remake illustrated by Yusuke Murata, and the anime originated by Madhouse (later taken over by J.C. Staff). The OPM series is set in a world where superheroes operate under the Hero Association to protect the world from threats. Mumen Rider is the number one ranked C-Class hero, and while he doesn't have superpowers outside of being good at cycling, he still does his best to save people.
The character is a fan favorite because of his strong will and determination in the face of impossible odds. He infamously fought against the Deep Sea King in one of the most popular fights in the series. The battle saw protagonist Saitama's apprentice, the mighty Genos, brutally beaten by the villain. "Biker for Justice" came to try and save the day but couldn't even scratch the bad guy.
Despite this, he kept fighting, declaring, "I am weak. I know that much. Don't let anyone tell me I have no chance of defeating you. I already know that! And yet , I must try. It's not about winning or losing! It's about me taking you right here, right now!" This brave act inspired those around him, keeping the villain at bay until Saitama appeared to take him down. This selfless act instantly made him a popular character among readers and viewers.
The One Punch Man anime currently has two seasons available to watch on Hulu and Netflix. The series has been confirmed for a third season, but there is no word yet on which studio will produce it. The manga is available to read in English through Viz Media.
